Talk to the sales lady. Don’t wait for a chance encounter of “On Sale” signs to line your favorite store window. Ask ahead about seasonal sales.

Make a list -- and stick to it. Before you hit the racks, jot down exactly what you need. Picking up unnecessary purchases just because of slashed prices doesn’t really save you money; you’ll end up spending more dollars to get what you actually need.
