Looking for something to outshine last year’s wool peacoat? Here are this season’s hottest coat trends:

Fancy Trenches
Trench coats are standard fall fare, but this winter we’re seeing ones that have been made to hold up in harsher weather. Some have fur lining and collars, and others are full-length or patched leather. And they’re all really cute!

Cocoon Coats
Cocoons are kind of like capes with a little more structure and really wide sleeves that taper at the wrists. They come in a range of colors, from neutrals to bolds. Designer Stella McCartney has one that’s shiny electric gold.

Furry Trends
Faux fur has gotten a lot softer and more elegant than the cheap imitations of seasons past. If all-over fur isn’t your thing, a lot of coats this year have it just around the cuffs -- like built-in fur hand muffs!
