Making  up  Is  Hard  to  Do

Think you’re old enough to wear makeup, but the parentals aren’t down with it? What’s wrong with a little eye shadow … and liner and lipstick and foundation? When it comes to makeup, a little goes a long way. Prove to your parents that you know how to apply cosmetics -- subtly.

Start With a Little Gloss
The trick is to ease your parents into the idea of their little girl wearing makeup, and lip gloss is a good starting point. It’s light and it looks natural while adding a shimmery glow. Go for a clear gloss or something with a hint of sheer color. If you have a fair complexion, try pink or peach. For olive skin, choose mocha or honey. Dark skin looks awesome in nudes or bronzes.

A Bag Over Your Head Is Not an Option
At your age, you don’t need foundation to even out skin tone. But your parents should be OK with your using a concealer to cover the occasional zit. Here’s how: First, gently apply astringent to the blemish with a cotton ball -- don’t pick! Next, dab on concealer in a shade that’s close to your natural skin color and blend it by lightly brushing outward. Let it dry before setting it with a cotton swab dipped in loose face powder.

Practice a Little Makeover Madness!
Flip through magazines for tasteful daytime looks and have a makeover party with your friends. When doing makeovers with friends, use clean applicators and brushes to avoid passing around bacteria. To apply eye shadow and lipstick, you can use a disposable cotton swab. Some drugstores even sell disposable mascara wands. Or you can give individual tubes of mascara as party favors, which even come in purples and emeralds.

Step It up for Special Occasions Only
You might be able to convince your parents to let you get more creative with the makeup when dressing up for dances and parties. For now, stick to eye shadow. Brush a medium shade from your lash line up to the eyelid crease. Blend a deeper shade from the crease to slightly above it -- but not up to your brows. Celebrate the season with shades that sparkle!

Ahead of the Game Plan
Talk about planning ahead! U.S. soccer star Mia Hamm has been appointed international ambassador for the FIFA Women’s World Cup in Germany, which takes place in 2011. Mia took gold at the World Cup in 1991 and 1999. “I’m convinced the tournament will set new benchmarks,” says Mia. “It’s really special to be involved in such a fantastic event.”

Meanwhile, German player Sandra Smisek has been named ambassador for the city of Frankfurt. Sandra helped Germany win the World Cup in 2003 and 2007. “The final of the Women’s World Cup will be held in Frankfurt, and I am really looking forward to taking part in an event of that magnitude,” says Smisek.

Makeup...its like a beauty enhancement! not coverer!!!

I couldn't agree more...makeup is a great way of expressing yourself and if you like how you look with it on that is your choice...now I'm not saying you should be 8 and putting makeup on...an occasional blush and lip gloss or light light light eyeshadow...is always a good starter...don't go overboard and you can make yourself feel even more beautiful!

Make up of course

i also like to wear a little make up but my parents wont let me. i really dont care because though make up makes u a bit pretty and feel like your beautiful, you dont have to use it. i dont and i feel fine. i just wash my face, put chapstick on, and brush my hair until it's soft and shining. it's so much better than all those cosmetics even a little.

your parents just dont want you to grow up ;)

some girls look totally fine without makeup. im am DEF not one of those girls. im allowed to wear as much makeup as i want now, (im 14) but for a year and a half i "practiced"so i just wore it around the house, and not in public unless for something special. and girls, your dads are just being protective. they dont want guys to look at you the wrong way..ya know? my dad is the same way. heck im not even allowed to wear a bikink cuz it shows 2 much. just remember, your parents dont want guys to look at you wrong, and they also dont want theyre kods to grow up..and certain things like that are kinda what make you grow up. and they dont want that so they try to put it off as long as possible. just tryto be patient, and let them know you are grown up. (:

True Ending Says...

Make-up is a little too much!

Well I don't choose to wear make up because it can mess up beautiful clear skin and my skin is already healthy so why mess it up with make-up?!?!?Those girls out there who don't want acne don't wear make even if you really want, to wait till a later age; because I have a friend that wears make up ALL THE TIME and her mom doesn't know it and she had very beautiful skin and one day the make up made her skin flaky and dry, and she also started to get pimples so why waste your time trying to look more beautiful than you are?!?!?!

Make up

ok so i can only wear lip gloss but i dont care, there is this girl at my school who wears make-up everyday and one day she didnt wear any and she looked horrible, what i am saying is dont wear heavy makeup everyday cause people will get used to it and when you dont wear any you will look weird and your face all bare. Wear light make up every other 3 days or so.(just saying)Or dont wear any at all :)

Nikki Says...

12+:-(

This year I am ten. In April I will be eleven. Do I wear make up? Will I when I turn 11? No. When I'm 12 I can wear a nude lipgloss. When I am 15(the year I am aloud to date) I can wear light make-up. 16 is full blown heavy. And even then I personaly will probably wait longer. My pholocify is that if you wear makeup to impress a boy, you don't need it. Why should you go through that just to please him. He should like you for who you are. Also, another reason I am going to wait to wear makeup-last week I snuck lipgloss to school...UGH!!! It tasted bad, it felt so weird...I hated it! That and in our family if you have lots of freckels(which I do), you have been kissed by angels. If I have been blessed by an angel, why cover the blessing? Or change God's work of art?

To Sharaye

Alright, you need to cool your jets! I know that little girl ONLY gets to wear eye-liner and mascara, but we're all girls here (I hope [: ) So let's all try to get along. And little girl, ''only'' isn't the best word to describe eye-liner and mascara here. I'm 15 as well, and I'm allowed to wear light-colored gloss. You're very lucky to be allowed that much at such a young age.. I'm sort of dissapointed in your parents, really. Don't take me the wrong way, girls! I like make-up and all, but I don't want to wear eye-liner. Only eyes-shadow and mascara is enough for me. Some girls look SO beautiful without make-up! Do me a favor, ya'll. Go to Playlist . com (remove the spaces) and type in "More Beautiful You" by "Jonny Diaz. Listen to this, I hope it helps in some way! ~Heather *Smiley*
